Hi, this is Dr. Michele and I would like to welcome you to our listening room.
Romans 12:2 says,
“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
Our life experience has produced beliefs that conform to the patterns of this world. God calls each of us to be changed by the renewing of our minds. This is more than reading the Bible and knowing what it says. It is applying the truth of God’s Word into our thoughts and actions everyday, minute by minute.
When I study the bible I am reading and researching through the eyes of a clinical Christian counselor to bring you the “How To” in biblical principle application. These teachings are geared to give you the listener, tools for overcoming life’s challenges to become the overcomers that God has called you to be.
The goal of these teachings is to provide you with tools to speed your transformation into the image of Christ. To help you tear down the obstacles in your way that keep you stuck in patterns that are contrary to your biblical beliefs. Every teaching provides biblically based tools to attain healthy thinking, life, and relationship skills. Practice what you learn daily and be transformed.
What are Thinking and Life Skills?
THINKING
Our brain has developed many messages though our life experiences that feel very true to us. This has formed our core beliefs, or as the Bible calls it our mental strongholds. These core beliefs are the default drive that steers our emotions, speech patterns, and life skills, thus affecting every area of our lives. Our responsibility as Christians is to tear down anything that does not agree with the Word of God and align our agreements with the Bible. The practical application of this changes how we trust God, reject fear, navigate through relationships, set boundaries and much more. When we change our thinking it affects our purpose and life so that we can accurately reflect our creator and live a more abundant life.
LIFE SKILLS
When we align our thinking we can then have life skills that are also in alignment with biblical principles. Life skills are everything from hygiene, social skills, handling finances, time management and much more. The life skills that all of us as human beings can improve are communication skills, coping skills, conflict resolution skills, confrontational skills and boundaries. These skills include all of our relationship skills as well.
Trauma versus Trust: Where do your thoughts reside?
We will practice using tools to identify and take our thoughts captive. We walk through two common life experiences and step by step identify each component to capture and reframe our thinking. We also look at the titles of several Psalms and see how they encourage us to change the focus of our thoughts.
Thinking by the Word
The Bible has so much to say about our thinking there is a limitless supply of information and application if we just look for it. This teaching helps us understand what God says to us in regard to our thoughts.
Think Your Way to Freedom
The roots of thinking are explained and how it affects our ability to present ourself as a Christian. We look at a common example of a thought pattern and use a tool to examine it. We study several scriptures about thinking and learn what the Bible says about our mind, heart, and thoughts. We focus on Peter, Zechariah, David, and Jonah and give examples based on biblical references identifying their thoughts and what it produced in their lives.
Tools to Think Victoriously
Why do so many of us have a wealth of Bible knowledge yet struggle in varying areas. We need more than the information of what to do, but teaching on “How To” do it. This teaching presents 5 tools to achieve the “How To” of identifying the default drive in our brain that steers our thoughts and helps us to process thoughts and feelings without sin and dysfunction.
Do We Think Like Saints
Do our thoughts, speech, and life skills reflect our belief system? This teaching encourages us to line up our thinking to God, which changes our purpose and life. We will use tools to look at two major mental strongholds FEAR and PRIDE. We will walk through the steps of identifying and tearing down the core beliefs based in fear and pride thought patterns.
Snapshots of Bible Characters
This teaching uses two different tools that help us identify our experiences and the messages and thoughts that they produced forming our core beliefs which then affect our emotions, speech patterns, life skills and the consequences in our life. We look at Jesus and five Bible characters (David, Tamar, Ammnon, Absalom, and Jephthah) and use the tools to identify the core beliefs of these people and how it reflected in their emotions, speech patterns, and life skills producing different consequences or results based on how they chose to align their thinking.
God’s Call: Align your thoughts with God
God has an urgent message for us, His Bride. He is coming back for us, a “radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.” We will gain a deeper understanding of many scriptures and explain how the preparation required is focused on changing our thinking. Repentance means changing our mind which then changes our purpose and life. It is not a request it is a command. This is the process of identifying core beliefs and affecting change to be transformed and ready for Christ’s returns.
Transformed into His Image in 5 Steps
We examine 5 biblical steps to healing. This is not a formula, but an explanation of how God designed our salvation and transformation into His image. We have named the 5 steps in the process of sanctification to provide you with the “How To” tools to be transformed more quickly into God’s image and embrace all that God has for you.
Victim or Victor: Which do you choose?
The victim mentality is contrary to the mentality of a conqueror. We will explore our human experiences that have created our wounds, pain, rejection, fear, and have produced the faulty thinking and mental strongholds that lock us into the pattern of thinking like a victim. We will establish our true God identity as an overcomer.
Contemporary Idolatry Exposed
Contemporary Idolatry is our agreement with things that are contrary to the Word of God. When we serve the gods of our past experiences, faulty beliefs, feelings, human reasoning and rational thought, and other peoples’ opinions we are often thinking and making life skill choices that are contrary to the Word of God.
Orphaned Heart: Abandonment versus Adoption
How many of us have felt abandoned and been left damaged by it? Most of us fear rejection and make decisions that are not healthy in order to avoid rejection. This teaching helps us understand that regardless of our abandonment experiences we have been adopted by our Father in heaven. This understanding in application can change what drives us toward unhealthy methods of acceptance.
Suffering: Affliction to Glory
We have all experienced suffering in our lives. No one can escape it but we can view it differently which will bring fruit into the outcome. We must turn our vision from pain to the hope we have in Christ Jesus and grow through our wilderness experiences.
The 5 Steps to Healing
The 5 steps to healing is a tool to help us walk through overcoming every wound and experience that has brought damage to our soul (mind, will and emotions). The Bible gives clear instructions to lead us to the healing we all need. However, we need to learn to apply the tools.
Our Identity
How do we see ourself? Do we agree with what God says about us? Our identity has been formed by many messages from family, friends, and our culture. This teaching will help us identify messages that scream faulty identity statements and give us the opportunity to see ourselves as God sees us.
Roots to Fruit
This teaching explains how God designed each of us perfectly with a purpose in mind. The seed He created was planted and the environment that we experienced has shaped our human development. What sin and the world have twisted is untwisted by the God who is longing to restore our soul if we seek Him and apply His tools.
They Adam Syndrome
The Adam Syndrome is the foundation of sin and how its influence developed our thinking, life skills, and relationship skills. 7 words will be identified as a discernment tool to help us recognize healthy vs. unhealthy thinking skills, communication patterns, conflict resolution skills, life situations and relationship dynamics in dating, marriage, and interactions in our work and ministry environment. This teaching series is based on revelation knowledge from the Book of Genesis that Dr. Michele received from the Holy Spirit during her ten years of Clinical Christian Counseling.
